Exploring Palm Beach County's Agricultural Heartland

On Friday, February 28, 2025, staff members from the Planning, Zoning, and Building Department had the unique opportunity to tour the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) in western Palm Beach County, courtesy of the Florida Sugar Cane League.

During the tour, local farmers shared insights into their family farming legacies, sustainable agricultural practices, and the dedication required to bring fresh, locally grown crops to tables nationwide—especially during the winter months. The experience highlighted Palm Beach County's vital role as one of the nation's top agricultural producers.

To support our hardworking farmers, we encourage residents to look for the "Fresh from Florida" logo when purchasing produce.

Learn more about Florida's sugarcane farmers and their mission by visiting the Florida Sugar Cane League.
