Lake Worth Lagoon Initiative
Archeologist Christian Davenport with the Planning, Zoning and Building Department's Planning Division recently attended a meeting of the Lake Worth Lagoon Initiative (LWLI) at the Manatee Lagoon, an FPL Eco-Discovery Center located in West Palm Beach.
LWLI is a multiagency stakeholder group that was organized to heighten awareness of Lake Worth Lagoon and coordinate activities to protect and enhance this valuable natural system.
Davenport kicked-off the meeting with a presentation on the archeological history of Lake Worth Lagoon providing the in depth history of the Lagoon and its watershed.
Other presentations were made on a number of related topics including the C-51 sediment trap, LAGOONFEST 2024, and the wildlife habitat.
