These facilities are high-risk occupancies because of the vulnerability of their occupants due to physical or mental health impairments, mobility restrictions, the layout of these buildings and high use of oxygen. This presentation focuses on managing potential risks, discussing the facility's emergency action plan and evacuation procedures, and staff and patient accountability. We also assist the group in identifying the fire and life safety features of the building such as the fire alarm, sprinkler system, fire extinguishers, and fire compartments. An excellent adjunct to this lesson is the Fire Extinguisher Training class that we offer.
