Reservations are required for ALL programs (unless otherwise noted). All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program.

Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

NOTICE: Effective October 1, 2025, all payments made with a credit or debit card (online or in-person) will incur a 3.0% service fee. This fee is assessed and collected by the credit card processor, not by Palm Beach County. No service fee will be assessed on payments made by check or cash. Service fees are non-refundable.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS & TALKS
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2:45 p.m.
Saturdays, 1:00 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
During feeding time, listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals.

JULY

ORIENTEERING 
Wednesday, July 22, 9:30 a.m.
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join a naturalist and learn how to navigate using a map and compass! Participants will then get to practice the directional skills they learn on a fun, outside adventure course. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection and closed-toe shoes.

INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, July 25, 9:30 a.m. 
Adults and children ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

ANIMAL KEEPER FOR A DAY
Thursday, July 30, 10:00 a.m. 
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Animal keepers have the coolest job! Work behind the scenes with animal care staff and volunteers to feed, clean exhibits and provide enrichments for the animals at the nature center. Learn what it takes to care for these special animal ambassadors.

AUGUST

CREEPY CRITTERS
Saturday, August 1, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Do spiders make you jump? Do snakes make you scream? You can meet some live animals that many people consider creepy and learn how these creatures are uniquely special and important to the environment. 

MOTHER NATURE & ME: A is for Alligator
Tuesday, August 4, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!
 
DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: ALLIGATORS  
Tuesday, August 4, 3:00 p.m.
Adults and children ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about alligators, featuring a visit from one of the nature center’s resident animal ambassadors! Located at the West Boca Branch Library. Call the library for details and RSVP at (561) 470-1600.

DIPNETTING
Saturday, August 15, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Find out what creatures naturally live in the water of a wetland! Learn how to collect small pond animals and then observe and identify your findings. Please bring water, sun protection and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy. 
 
FLORIDA ANIMALS: ALLIGATORS
