Community Invited to Shape the Future of Parks and Recreation in Palm Beach County

Body

The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department is requesting community members to actively participate in shaping the future of parks and recreation facilities and services. As an integral part of the Comprehensive Needs Assessment process meeting our Department's accreditation standards, the department is hosting a series of community meetings and providing additional opportunities for public engagement.

These community meetings serve as a platform for residents to voice their opinions, suggestions, and concerns about the needs and priorities of their 110 County-operated parks and recreation facilities. The department values the input of the community and encourages all interested individuals to attend these meetings. Any County park or recreation facility may be discussed at the following four meeting locations.

Community Meeting Schedule:

  • November 8, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 PM: Green Cay Nature Center
  • November 9, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 PM: Okeeheelee Nature Center
  • November 14, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 PM: Belle Glade Public Library
  • November 15, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 PM: West Jupiter Community Center

These meetings offer four opportunities for community members to share their insights and help guide the future of Palm Beach County's parks and recreational services.

In addition to the in-person community meetings, the department has also made provisions for virtual participation. A Virtual Open House, as well as an online survey, are available on the project website at www.PBCparksplan.com. The website will continue to be updated with project information and upcoming engagement opportunities.

For further inquiries and comments related to this project, community members are encouraged to contact Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation via email at pbcparks@pbcgov.org or by phone at 561-966-6664.

Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation is excited to work closely with its residents and stakeholders, ensuring that the future of parks and recreational facilities reflects the true needs and aspirations of the community. This meaningful community engagement also helps us achieve our department's accreditation standards.
