July 2019 Program Guide at Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Please call (561) 629-8760 or visit the nature center to make program reservations.  Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program by cash or check only.  All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program.  If you are more than 5 minutes late to a program for which you have made a reservation, your spot may be given to a person on the waiting list. 

ANIMAL FEEDINGS
Daily, 3:15-3:30 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
3:15 p.m. is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals and then watch while it’s fed. Wednesday - Alligator; Thursday - Snake; Friday - Owl; Saturday - Alligator

MOTHER NATURE & ME: BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES
Tuesday, July 2, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

RADICAL REPTILES
Saturday, July 6, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
Join a naturalist for a family friendly program focusing on the amazing world of reptiles! Learn about these diverse scaly creatures and meet some resident reptiles up close and personal.

DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: OWLS
Tuesday, July 9, 3:30 p.m.
Ages 8+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program featuring a visit from some of the nature center’s resident animal ambassadors, at the West Boca Branch Library! Call the West Boca Branch Library for details and RSVP at (561) 470-1600.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: DAY AT THE BEACH
Tuesday, July 16, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

INTRO TO ARCHERY 
Wednesday, July 24, 10:00 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join the USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified staff and learn about the sport of archery. This exciting program teaches archery safety skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before getting time to practice on the range.

ANIMAL TOY SHOP
Saturday, July 27, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
Watching TV, riding a bike, reading and eating ice cream are all fun activities for people. However, what does an animal like to do for fun? Learn how Daggerwing Nature Center cares for the animals by providing “enrichment” in their habitats. Learn about enrichment and help create some hands-on enrichment items to provide to the animals for their enjoyment! 

WELLNESS PROGRAMS
GENTLE YOGA
Fridays, 3:30 p.m. (Call for class dates) 
$10/class (Reservations required)
Yoga can help one find peace, tranquility, mindfulness, strength, balance, and flexibility. Bring a yoga mat.
