Duration: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Directions: (It is important to read these directions as the U.S. Highway 1 bridge is closed and we are meeting in a different place than in years past) From I-95 exit at Indiantown Rd. (SR 706) – head east on Indiantown Rd. to Old Dixie Hwy. (Alt. A1A) - turn left and head north to U.S. Highway 1 – Old Dixie Hwy turns into Beach Rd. on the east side of the intersection – head east through the intersection and make your next right into Lighthouse Park (500 Captain Armours Way) – follow the road past the soccer fields to the large parking lot at the south end of the park – after parking follow the signs to the entrance to the event.
Schedule of Events: 8 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. – Welcome Remarks 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. – Explore more than 20 booths from local environmental and social organizations 9 a.m. – Volunteers get to work (I will be doing trash pickup in the north section of the natural area – along Beach Road, U.S. Highway 1 and the mangroves along the Intracoastal Waterway Noon – Closing Remarks.
Additional Information: Volunteers should wear old clothes and shoes that they don’t mind getting dirty and possibly wet. Restroom facilities are available at Lighthouse Park. The Department will supply tools, gloves, and refreshments for the volunteers. Event participation is limited to the first 15 volunteers who register.
Registeration: The volunteer projects are designed for volunteers ages 16 and older. Volunteers 15 and under must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
