Project Status - Updated February 12, 2020

  • The project is complete.
  • The hopper dredge Liberty Island has pumped a total of 591,095 cubic yards of sand.
  • All equipment has been removed from the staging area.
  • The beach around the active work area has re - opened for public use.

Project Description

Approximately 1.05 miles of beach will be nourished south of Jupiter Inlet to the southern boundary of Carlin Park.  Sand will be pumped onshore 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a trailing hopper dredge from a permitted offshore borrow area and then shaped and graded with heavy construction equipment to form a natural beach slope.
