Hypoluxo & Jog Project

  • Roadway & Underground Work:
    • The annual contractor, Johnson Davis, is onsite today, 5/5/25, performing sidewalk repairs
    • All storm drainage on the project has been video inspected. Deficiencies are being repaired this week using noninvasive methods from inside the pipe
    • PBC staff reviewed and approved the repair process utilizing the same practices as FDOT uses for internal pipe repairs.
  • Signals:
    • Hypoluxo/Cumberland Farms
      • All work at this intersection is complete, and the signal was activated on 4/17/25
    • Hypoluxo/Jog
      • On 4/16/25, Gerelco relocated a 2" PBC underground fiber conduit that conflicted with the new mast arm location B2 on the NE corner
      • FPL tapped power and installed meter on 4/22/25
      • The last three drill shafts were completed during the week of 4/24/25
      • Underground work was completed on the NE and SE corners: open trench conduit and bore pipes were connected.
      • 16 pull boxes installed as of 5/1/25.
      • Traffic controller cabinet installed on 5/1/25
        • Tentative mast arm installation schedule
          • West side 5/12 – 5/14
          • East side 5/19 – 5/22
      • Late June: Gerelco and FPL to coordinate removal of old span wire and signal poles (dates tentative, based on FPL)


Gateway & Military Project

  • Roadway & Underground Work:
    • Remainder of the video inspection of the storm drainage pipe commenced during nighttime hours in late March/early April and was reviewed by staff
    • Deficiencies will be corrected using noninvasive methods inside the pipe, already approved by PBC.
      • Once the contractor completes repairs to Hypoluxo & Jog, they will mobilize to Gateway and Military. Repairs will occur during nighttime hours on Gateway.
    • PBC staff have been coordinating with the contractor to obtain dates when the sidewalk & curbs will be installed, as well as milling and resurfacing.
    • Survey crew expected to be onsite this Wednesday, 5/7, to lay out proposed curb ramps for sidewalk placement on the intersection's four corners.
  • Signals:
    • Soft digs completed and coordination with utility owners ongoing
      • Overhead cable conflict resolved by Comcast on 4/17/25
      • Underground conflict on NE corner with AT&T resolved on 4/30/25
      • Gerelco and PBC are coordinating with FPL for de-energization on the SW corner (estimated for mid-June) to install drill shaft; mast arm installation to follow one month later
    • Mast arms began delivery on 5/1/25 to the Hypoluxo & Jog staging area (no space available for storage at the Gateway site)
    • PBC Traffic Operations Dept. installed two new signal heads for the upcoming new lanes; currently bagged pending lane openings.​
