Municipal Projects Update as of April 9, 2025

Body

Hypoluxo & Jog Project

  • Hypoluxo Rd west of Jog Road was milled and paved.  The County is currently installing pavement markings and signage.
  • The traffic signal on Hypoluxo Rd and Cumberland Farms is on flash mode today and message signs will be installed tomorrow to alert drivers about the upcoming signal activation.
  • The county expects to have that signal operational on April 17th
  • Staff is coordinating with FPL to de-energize power lines for 2 consecutive days to continue signal work at the intersection of Hypoluxo Rd and Jog Rd.
  • County expects to install the signal drill shafts the week of April 21st and be able to install the mast arms at the beginning of May.
  • After signal work, the next steps will be to complete milling and paving as well as complete sidewalk improvements.

Gateway & Military Project

  • Initial video inspections of the storm drainage pipes were received on March 7 and have been reviewed by county staff.  Additional video inspections are now needed.
  • The Surface Contractor is preparing Maintenance of Traffic plans to allow remaining video inspections to occur overnight in a couple of weeks.  These Maintenance of Traffic plans have to be reviewed by the County to ensure they meet all safety requirements.
  • Signal Contractor has ordered the 3 remaining mast arms.
  • Initial soft digs revealed utility conflicts at one mast arm location so a new location was proposed.  Soft digs will be performed at the new location on April 26th.
  • Directional bore for underground conduits will start this week or early next week.
  • Work order was sent to adjust the existing signal to accommodate the addition of the second South Bound Left Turn lane and North Bound  Right Turn lane.  As soon as the lanes are ready, Traffic Operations will be able to operate the additional signal heads.
