​Today is the 47^th anniversary of National Ag Day and that is certainly an achievement worth celebrating! National Ag Day is the perfect time to thank American farmers for all they provide for us. Agriculture provides almost everything we eat, use and wear on a daily basis. Agriculture is America's #1 export and new technology means farmers are more environmentally friendly than ever before.

American agriculture is doing more than ever before with each American farmer feeding more than 165 people ... a dramatic increase from 25 people in the 1960s. On this day dedicated to recognizing agriculture's role in American life, consider the importance of readily accessible, safe and affordable food.

Consider what it really takes to get food onto the dinner table. Our farmers are just one part of the entire agriculture industry, from the harvesters to the truckers and all the way to the grocery store, there are many vital links in a chain bringing food to American citizens and millions of people abroad.

Ag Day is a good time to reflect - and be grateful for - American agriculture!
