Florida and County 4-H Scholarships

Due June 1!

Florida and PBC 4-H are now accepting scholarship applications! This year's deadline to submit is Wednesday, June 1, 2022.  For the Florida 4-H Scholarships, all submissions must be completed online here: 2022 4-H Scholarship Application Packet [ufl.qualtrics.com] and submit your references here: Request for References here [ufl.qualtrics.com] Florida 4-H will also be hosting a virtual scholarship application informational session on April 14th at 7:00PM. You need to register in advance to participate in this session: Click here to Register [ufl.zoom.us]. Florida 4-H will be offering more than $30,000 in scholarships so please apply!​

For local Palm Beach County scholarships, the deadline is Wednesday, June 1, 2022 as well. No late applications will be accepted.

A complete Palm Beach County 4-H Scholarship Portfolio Application MUST contain the following:

  1. PBC 4-H Scholarship Cover Page (attached).
  2. Senior Portfolio (attached).
  3. 2-3 page Narrative Statement:  Write a two-page narrative that summarizes and highlights how you have benefited from your 4-H experiences.
    • Be specific with your examples; don't use slang, you are writing for judges who are evaluating your 4-H career... much as an employer evaluates your letter of application.
    • How have you benefited from 4-H?
    • What skills have you learned in 4-H? How will they benefit you in the future?
    • Select an experience in which you were part of a group and explain your contributions to the group effort.
    • How will you share your experiences in 4-H?
    • What impact will you be able to make as a result of your 4-H experiences?
  4. A statement to explain your financial need (attached).
  5. An unofficial transcript of high school/college grades.
  6. Two letters of recommendation from references such as a school counselor, academic advisor, instructor, or employer.
  7. A completed W-9 form (attached).
  8. A completed scholarship disbursement letter (attached).
  9. Upload Requirements
    • ONLY PDF, DOC, or DOCX files will be accepted during the upload step of the application.
    • Include your Last Name and County in the file name (Example: John_Smith_Resume_Alachua.pdf)

Florida 4-H University is a week-long overnight event for senior 4-H youth (4-H age 14-18) held at the University of Florida. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in educational workshops lead by University of Florida faculty, explore career opportunities, lead community service activities, interact with youth from all over the state, and have fun while developing critical life skills that will help them become productive and engaged citizens of the communities, their country, and their world. Registration will be open May 1 through June 17.  Late registration will continue June 18 to 25 with at late fee of $25 per person.  No registrations will be accepted after June 25.  The 2022 registration fee is $350; includes all activities, lodging, and meals.

Summer 2022 Florida 4-H State Summer Camps and Camp Scholarships

Registration for Summer Camp 2022 at 4-H Camp Cloverleaf and Camp Timpoochee opened February 1st via 4-H Online. Each week of camp will be a different event. Sign up is online for active 4-H members using 4-H Online. Florida 4-H is also excited to share that they have summer camp scholarship and transportation funding opportunities for campers coming to Florida 4-H summer camps in 2022.

​Gator Pit

The Florida 4-H Youth Development Program is on a statewide search for the most innovative young entrepreneurs, inventors, creators and business people! These participants will demonstrate goal-setting, financial literacy, creativity, communication skills, and effective marketing. The Gator Pit is a free program open to all youth ages 14-18 in the state of Florida. Students will be taught how to transform an idea into a viable business through virtual teaching sessions, mentorship, participation in a pitch competition, and ongoing connection to the business community and their peers.  Nature Poetry Contest

Poetry is an opportunity to share what you observe, contemplate, or laugh about! Encourage your 4-H youth to use their creativity and powers of observation to write and submit a poem to the Florida 4-H Nature Poetry Contest! Visit https://programs.ifas.ufl.edu/florida-4-h-forest-ecology/nature-poetry-contest/ for more information and to download the contest entry form. Once the form is completed, return by mail to the address given. There is a limit of one entry per person.
