Planning a group gathering in the park?

Group 

 

Riverbend can provide the following programs to groups of up to 25 individuals. Programs will be tailored to the participant age level. These guided programs enhance your visit to the park by offering a closer look at the environmental and historical aspects of Riverbend. Activities promote environmental and historical awareness, conservation, and recreation​.

Programs must be reserved in advance. Please call 561-741-1359 for program availability and reservation.​

Once we receive your request we will check for availability and send you back a confirmation via email or fax.

  • Programs are offered on Tuesday through Friday.
  • Programs will run approximately 90 Minutes.
  • Program Price:  $5.00 per person.
  • Payment is due the day of program. We will accept either cash or check.
  • Program runtimes are approximate depending upon age level of participants.

Program Topics

Aquatic Wonders

Learn about the health and role of the wetlands in Riverbend Park. Please come prepared* for your feet to get wet! Catch and observe aquatic organisms! (*Closed toed shoes required.)

Whoo’s That?

Bring your good walking shoes and binoculars, and go on a walk to locate and identify birds in the park. A great way to practice using guides and practice techniques to identify birds. Binoculars are available for use at the park.

Flutter To The Flowers

Search for butterflies and learn about their amazing life cycle and about the plants that sustain them. Take a close look at some butterflies and then release them to their natural habitat. Good shoes, water and a hat are recommended.

Shaped By Fire

Learn the role that fire has in the ecosystem and how we work with it at Riverbend. Explore some areas that have been recently burned. Good shoes, water and a hat are recommended.

Pioneer Living History

Visit the farmsite and Seminole Indian village at Riverbend to experience some of what life was like on the Loxahatchee for the early pioneers.

Lost!

Finding yourself turned around in the park? Learn basic orienteering skills with a compass. Build your confidence for that next trip into the wilderness.

Feathered Hunters

Learn about Riverbend’s raptors and the unique characteristics that make them what they are. Go on a short walk in search of raptors and will take a look at one of Riverbebnd's rescued raptors.

Elusive Ectotherms

Frogs, lizards, snakes and alligators are all here through not always easy to find. Explore some of their habitat in search for them and discover some of their secrets!
