County Wins Health+Wellness Design Awards for Outreach Material

The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department was selected by Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) as the winner of the 2018 American Health+Wellness Design Awards for several of its printed, public communication tools.

The department’s Leisure Times and companion Park Guide brochure won in the Public Service+Pro Bono category. Several of the department’s brochures won in the Brochures+Collateral category, including: Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park/Riverbend Park brochure; Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park/Riverbend Park School Field Trip brochure; Waterparks brochure; Okeeheelee Nature Center brochure; and Okeeheelee Nature Center School Field Trip guide.

​The publications were designed in house by department staff and serve to connect residents and visitors to opportunities for healthy, happy living to improve their quality of life. They were printed through the Public Affairs Department’s Graphics Division and can be viewed online.

For five decades, GDUSA has presented competitions that focus on areas of growth and opportunity for graphic design. The 2018 awards focus on health and wellness, the fastest-growing segment of the economy and the epicenter of the national conversation. This competition takes in the big picture of healthcare: traditional medical industries; mental health and counseling; healthy lifestyles; and public health and community education initiatives.
  
GDUSA has been a business-to-business information source for graphic design professionals since 1963 and covers news, people, project trends, technology, products and services and hosts several national design competitions that culminate in Annuals showcasing the best in Graphic Design, Inhouse Design, Web Design, Package Design, Healthcare Design, and Digital Design.
