Daggerwing Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park at 11435 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, west of Boca Raton. For more information, visit www.pbcnature.com. All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Please register online at www.pbcparks.com ; under "Online Services" click on Register/Pay for Program, or visit the nature center to register and make payment.  All participants are required to sign a program participation form for each program.
 
ANIMAL FEEDINGS                 daily, 3:15-3:30 p.m.      all ages, free (reservations not required)
Listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing's resident animals and then watch while it's fed. Wednesday - opossum; Thursday - snake; Friday - owl; Saturday - alligator

FISHING FUN                           Saturday, August 3, 10:30 a.m.  Ages 8+, $10/participant
Learn the basics of freshwater fishing and practice learned skills. Class includes fishing pole basics, casting tips, and freshwater fish identification. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toed shoes that can get wet/muddy.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: Florida Felines        Tuesday, August 6, 10:30 a.m.
ages 2-5 w/guardian      $4 per child      
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers.

INTRO TO ARCHERY               Thursday, August 8, 10 a.m.      ages 8+, $10/participant
Join the USA Archery and NFAA-certified staff and learn about the sport of archery. This exciting program teaches safety skills and proper use of a bow and arrow before getting time to practice on the range.

DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: Turtles            Tuesday, August 13, 3:30 p.m.  ages 8+, free
Enjoy a special program featuring a visit from the nature center's resident animal ambassadors at the Glades Road Branch Library. Call the library for details and to RSVP at (561) 482-4554.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: Incredible Insects    Tuesday, August 6, 10:30 a.m.
ages 2-5 w/guardian      $4 per child

WETLAND ANIMALS                Saturday, August 31, 10:30 a.m. ages 5+, $3/participant
Learn about the animals that live in the wetlands and how they are adapted for life in this habitat. Live collection animals will be featured during the presentation to enhance the educational experience.
