Comprised of three distinct, yet complementary installations, Knowledge is Our Future promotes learning, literacy and honors Belle Glade's multifaceted past while celebrating its future. The artwork's designs are inspired by stories and images the community shared during workshops held by the artists.
A multi-faceted mosaic tile floor welcomes all who enter the library. Images capture Belle Glade's familiar scenes of sugar cane fields, football fields, Lake Okeechobee and other neighborhood landmarks.
Whimsical and imaginative windows surround the Children's Program Room. Etched "doodles" inspired by local children's drawings depict images of community, nature sports, science and more.
Vibrantly colored murals feature dramatic moments in Belle Glade's history, and highlight present day life.
