 At this time, Acreage Pines Natural Area will remain closed for previous construction activities.  We encourage you to visit one of the other sites that has re-opened.

 

 Natural Areas Are Set to Re-Open

In accordance with Palm Beach County Emergency Order 2020-005, on Wednesday, 4/29/2020 ERM staff will begin re-opening Natural Areas to the public.

HOWEVER THIS DOES NOT MEAN RECREATION AS USUAL.

All visitors to the natural areas must follow Center for Disease Control Guidelines and the County’s Emergency Order 2020-005.

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH BOTH AT THE LINKS PROVIDED BELOW AND

 Wear face coverings, recreate in groups less than 10, maintain social distance of at least 6 feet apart while on the trails, and avoid touching common surfaces such as handrails, benches, etc. to be safe while visiting.

 

 

Acreage Pines

Park at the west end of Acreage Pines Community Park, 6405 140th Ave. N., Loxahatchee

Walk along the boardwalk to see wading birds, cypress trees, and the endangered giant wild pine airplant.  

Open Sunrise to Sunset, 365 Days a Year

Passive and Active Recreation Coincide

Acreage Pines Natural Area preserves 124 acres of wetlands and pine lands adjacent to Acreage Community Park. A boardwalk allows visitors an opportunity to watch dragonflies, herons, and egrets hunt for food in the wetlands. A hiking trail winds through slash pines and saw palmettos. Keep an eye out for the acrobatic displays of common nighthawks!
