Join us for the official grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of Cypress Creek South Natural Area. This event will showcase the recently restored wetland/upland habitats, public-use amenities, and a connecting section of Historic Jupiter-Indiantown Trail, a multiuse trail connecting Riverbend Park to Cypress Creek Natural Area.

There will be a short opening ceremony followed by guided hiking, bicycling, and paddling tours. These tours are FREE and open to the public on a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited and you must sign-up at the information table the morning of this event.
 

QUICK WALK, PADDLE, OR RIDE

ERM will offer the following 45 minute guided tours beginning at 10am, 11am, and 12pm:

Hike
Take a walk with ERM Staff on natural surfaced trails within Cypress Creek South to learn about habitat that has been restored and the wildlife that lives within these woods. Staff will lead the group to a scenic overlook.

Paddle
Join ERM Staff for a guided paddle through the wetland to learn how the site was restored. Kayaks and personal flotation devices will be provided for those interested. Paddlers will be able see wildlife that live in the wetlands up close.  

Bike
Bring your bike and helmet and cycle with ERM Staff along the Historic Jupiter-Indiantown Trail in Cypress Creek South and Riverbend Park.  There will be a stop at the Loxahatchee Battlefield Park where you're learn from Preservationists about the history of the site.

EXTENDED EDITION TOURS

The Northeast Everglades Trail Association (NETA) will be offering the following longer guided tours beginning at 10am: 

Turkey Trot Hike (1 and 1/2 Hour)
NETA will lead a group on a hike approximately 4 and 1/2 miles long that loops from Cypress Creek South, through Riverbend Park, and over to Cypress Creek North highlighting the trail connections.

Loxahatchee River Loop Bike Ride
NETA will lead a group on an easy paced bike ride approximately 12 to 15 miles long that loops from Cypress Creek South, to Cypress Creek North, through Riverbend Park, west to the new pathway along Jupiter Farms Road highlighting the trail connections.      

 
Directions
9424 West Indiantown Road, 1.75 miles west of the Florida Turnpike on the south side of Indiantown Road, east of Jupiter Farms Road. Additional parking is available at Riverbend Park and on the north side of Indiantown Road at Gulfstream Citrus Road (look for the event parking signs). We encourage participants who live within close proximity to the site to travel by foot, bicycle or horse. Due to the event activities, equestrian trailer parking is not available at the event site.
