Directions: From I-95 exit at 45th Street - head west to Haverhill Road - turn right and head north on Haverhill Road for roughly 2 miles to Dyer Blvd. – turn left and enter the south Dyer Park gates – follow signs and parking staff to event parking area. Additional Information: Please register for this event as you would any other project. The actual planting may take longer than one hour. Volunteers do not have to stay for the entire event if conflicts arise with other activities offered at the festival. Volunteers should wear clothing they don’t mind get dirty. We will be planting 1,000 slash pine seedlings in a disturbed area adjacent to the natural area parking lot. Restroom facilities are available (port-a-lets brought in for the event) at the natural area. The Department will supply tools, gloves, and refreshments for the volunteers. Event participation is limited to the first 30 volunteers who register. The projects are designed for volunteers ages 16 and older. Volunteers 15 and under must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
