What: Remove trash and invasive plants Where: Pondhawk Natural Area, Boca Raton adjacent to Spanish River Library. Directions: From I-95 exit at Yamato Road - head west on Yamato Road to Military Trail - turn left and head south on Military Trail to Spanish River Boulevard – turn left and head east on Spanish River Boulevard for roughly ½ mile – turn left into the parking lot of the Boca Raton Spanish River Library (1501 NW Spanish River Blvd.) – look for a white County truck to locate the volunteer meeting area - when you enter the library parking lot turn left and park on the far west side of the parking lot to keep the parking spaces closer to the library entrance open for the library patrons. Additional Information: Volunteers should wear long pants, t-shirts, sneakers or hiking boots. We will be removing trash and invasive plants from areas containing saw palmetto and cactus. We will also remove trash from the shoreline of Blue Lake. Restroom facilities are available inside the library. The Department will supply tools, gloves, and refreshments. Event participation is limited to the first 15 volunteers who register. Registration: The projects are designed for volunteers ages 16 and older.
